FAQ
Common questions about Pixel Logic Server — pricing, Google Cloud, destinations, Safari/ITP, privacy, and switching domains.
Do I need Google Cloud or any servers of my own?
No. Pixel Logic Server is your tagging server. We host, deploy, secure (HTTPS), and monitor it. You only work inside Google Tag Manager and your destinations (GA4, Meta, etc.).
How is this different from Stape?
Same core idea — a managed home for your server-side GTM — at a lower price and set up for you. See How Stape Works for the general model.
Can I start without changing DNS?
Yes — that's the default. The Quick Start uses a ready-made Pixel Logic URL with no DNS changes. Move to your own domain whenever you like; nothing is torn down.
Does it work with Meta CAPI, TikTok, and others?
Yes. Once your server is live, you add destinations inside your server GTM container like any sGTM setup — add the tag (Meta Conversions API, TikTok Events API, etc.), map your data, and publish. Your server forwards whatever the container is configured to send.
How long do cookies last?
Cookies are set by the server, so they're not subject to Safari ITP's 7-day cap on browser-set cookies. Lifetimes are about 400 days, which dramatically improves returning-visitor and conversion attribution — especially on Safari/iOS. This is strongest on your own domain.
Will it stop all ad blockers?
No tool can promise that, and anyone who claims otherwise isn't being straight with you. First-party server-side tracking recovers a large share of data that browser-side tracking loses, but ad-block evasion is always best-effort — the same is true on Stape and every similar product. Our Enhanced Ad Blocker Protection (in development) is designed to push that further.
Is my data shared with other customers?
No. Each customer's server is a dedicated deployment. Your configuration and traffic are isolated.
What about consent and privacy (GDPR)?
Server-side tagging doesn't change your legal obligations — you still need a valid lawful basis and to honor consent. Server-side actually makes consent easier to enforce centrally. See Consent & Privacy in the Learn track.
Can I switch from the Pixel Logic URL to my own domain later?
Yes, any time, and it's non-disruptive — your current URL keeps working while DNS propagates. See Use Your Own Domain.
What's the difference between "events" and "requests sent"?
Events are the analytics hits your server processed, and they match what you see in GA4. Requests sent counts every hit your tagging server received — including script loads — which is how hosts like Stape measure usage, so you can compare directly. Either way, we don't bill you per request; both numbers are shown purely for transparency.
What happens if I stop paying?
Your server is paused, not deleted. Renew and it comes right back with your configuration intact.
What happens when I delete a server?
Deleting is permanent: the server, its DNS records, and all analytics history are removed. A server you create afterward — even with the same name — starts completely fresh. If you only want a temporary stop, use Pause instead.
