Quick Start (Pixel Logic URL)
Get a working server-side tracking server in minutes using the ready-made Pixel Logic URL — no DNS changes required.
This is the fastest way to go live. You'll use the Pixel Logic URL — a ready-made, secure server address we give you the moment your server is provisioned. No DNS changes are required. You can move to your own domain later (see Use Your Own Domain) without starting over.
Before you begin
You need a Google Tag Manager Server container. If you don't have one yet:
- Open Google Tag Manager → Create Container.
- Choose Server as the container type.
- When asked how to provision, pick Manually provision tagging server — you don't need Google Cloud; Pixel Logic Server is your tagging server.
- Copy the Container Configuration string it shows you (a long code). You'll paste this into Pixel Logic in the next step.
Step 1 — Create your server
- In the Pixel Logic dashboard, go to your workspace → New Container.
- Give it a name and paste your Server Container Configuration from above.
- Pick a plan and submit. You'll receive an invoice.
Tip: You don't enter a domain or a Web GTM ID here — those belong to the first-party upgrade and are asked for only if/when you switch to your own domain.
Step 2 — Pay & provision
Pay the invoice by bank transfer using the instructions on it. When we confirm payment, your server provisions automatically (about 3 minutes). The container page will move to Active and show your Server URL — a unique address that looks like:
https://a7f3kp.your-id.pixellogicteam.comYour exact URL is shown on the container page; copy it from there. It's live, secured with HTTPS, and ready immediately.
Step 3 — Point your server container at the URL
Tell your GTM Server container where it lives:
- In GTM, open your Server container → Admin → Container Settings.
- Set the Tagging Server URL to your Server URL from Step 2.
- Save and Publish the server container.
Step 4 — Send your website's data to the server
On the web side, point your Google tag at the same URL:
- In your Web GTM container (or your GA4 Google tag), open the Google tag / GA4 Configuration settings.
- Set the
server_container_urlfield to your Server URL. - Publish the web container.
See Connect GA4 for the exact field names and a worked example.
Step 5 — Verify
- Open your website in a normal browser tab and click around.
- In GA4, open Reports → Realtime. You should see your visit appear.
- For a deeper look, use the built-in Preview & Debug environment.
That's it — you're live on server-side tracking. 🎉
What you get on the Pixel Logic URL
- A secure, monitored, server-side GTM running your container config.
- Server-set cookies with long (~400-day) lifetimes, resistant to Safari ITP.
- A separate preview/debug environment that never touches production traffic.
